A Lifetime in Law Enforcement. A Voice in Crime Fiction.
Anthony M. Pesare is a nationally recognized law enforcement expert, author, and speaker with over 40 years of service in policing and criminal justice education.

He served with distinction as a Major in the Rhode Island State Police and later as Chief of Police for Middletown, RI. Over the course of his career, Pesare held commanding roles in the Intelligence Unit, Detective Bureau, and Narcotics Division, and played a pivotal role in dismantling organized crime operations across New England—including cases involving the notorious Patriarca crime family.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Pesare earned his law degree and has taught criminal justice and constitutional law at the collegiate level. His deep knowledge of policing, prosecution, and policy gives him a unique and multidimensional perspective on the justice system.
Pesare is the author of They Always Win, a gritty crime novel based on one of his most significant investigations, and its critically praised follow-up, Back in the Game. Drawing from real cases, his writing offers an insider’s look at the moral complexities and personal sacrifices tied to a life spent in pursuit of justice.
Today, Pesare speaks to audiences ranging from law enforcement professionals and attorneys to crime readers and podcast listeners, delivering compelling talks on organized crime, leadership, and the true cost of justice.

“Pesare has created an astonishing inside view of the Rhode Island State Police and New England organized crime, depicting the personal pitfalls that beset everyone affected by both entities.”
